In brief: Orders are charged in Canadian dollars. Shipping charges and applicable taxes are shown before payment. We offer a voluntary 30-day return period beginning on delivery for eligible physical products. Your legal consumer rights always apply, even where these terms describe store policies.
Review our Returns & Refunds Policy and Privacy Policy alongside these terms.
1. About these terms
This website, avionics.cosmicaerospace.ca, is operated by Cosmic Aerospace Technologies, doing business through its Cosmic Avionics store (collectively, “Cosmic,” “we,” “us” and “our”). We are based in Québec, Canada. Questions about store orders can be sent to info@cosmicaerospace.ca.
These Terms of Service describe the rules for browsing our store and placing orders. By placing an order, you agree to the terms presented to you at the time of purchase, subject to applicable consumer-protection laws. Merely browsing does not require you to purchase or accept a commercial contract.
These terms apply to purchases made from Cosmic Avionics. Our corporate information and SWIFT program websites may have their own notices or terms.
2. Product information and availability
We sell aerospace electronics, altimeters, flight computers, embedded development hardware, servos, motors and related accessories. Product descriptions, specifications, supported applications, included accessories, availability, compatibility information and prices are shown on the relevant product page.
We aim to keep product information accurate. Minor differences in colour or appearance may arise from photography or display settings. Product listings must accurately describe any material differences, limitations or special conditions. If an item is materially different from the description or has a defect, please contact us; your legal remedies are not limited by this paragraph.
Stock and availability can change. We may correct a genuine listing error before accepting an order. If an accepted order cannot be fulfilled, we will contact you and offer a lawful resolution, including cancellation and refund where applicable.
3. Orders and acceptance
Before payment, you can review the items and quantities in your cart. Submitting an order initiates the payment process; it does not, by itself, guarantee that every item is available. An order is confirmed when we accept it and issue confirmation through the checkout or our order records. Any limitation or condition applicable to an order must be disclosed before purchase.
We may contact you to clarify an address, prevent fraud, resolve payment or stock issues, or correct a genuine error. We may decline a new order for a legitimate reason, subject to law; if payment was captured for an order we cannot fulfil, we will return the amount owed by the original payment method.
Please check your contact and shipping information carefully. If you notice an error after ordering, email us promptly with your order number.
4. Prices, taxes and payments
Prices and payments are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Any optional display of USD, EUR, GBP or other reference currencies is informational only and may not match your bank's exchange rate or fees.
The checkout will display the product subtotal, applicable shipping charges, taxes and total payable before you confirm payment. Prices may change for future orders, but changes do not retroactively change the agreed price of an accepted order, except as the law expressly permits.
When checkout is enabled, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not directly collect or store complete payment-card numbers. Your card issuer may apply conversion or other bank charges under its terms. Available payment methods are shown during checkout.
5. Shipping and delivery
Our online checkout currently supports Canadian shipping addresses. Availability for any other destination must be confirmed with us before purchase. Shipping cost depends on the delivery region and, when applicable, order weight and packaging; our store may use company-defined estimates rather than real-time carrier quotations.
Any delivery estimate shown before payment is an estimate, not a guaranteed arrival date unless expressly stated otherwise. We will communicate material delays and follow applicable statutory delivery and cancellation obligations. Deliveries may be affected by carrier operations, destination accessibility and severe weather.
If an order appears lost, damaged or delivered to an incorrect location, contact us as soon as practical with the order number and relevant evidence. We will investigate with the carrier and provide the remedies required by law. You are not required to waive statutory delivery rights because a carrier marks a package delivered.
6. Cancellations, returns and refunds
For eligible physical goods, our voluntary return policy allows you to request a return within 30 calendar days from the date of delivery. Returned goods must meet the reasonable conditions set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy. Contact us before sending a package so that we can provide return instructions.
For a change-of-mind return, the customer ordinarily pays return postage and original outbound shipping is not refunded. For an incorrect, defective or non-conforming product, we will provide the remedy, including applicable shipping costs, required by law. No store policy overrides rights of cancellation, refund, repair or replacement provided by applicable consumer-protection legislation.
You may also have statutory rights to cancel an online purchase for certain disclosure, contract, delivery or other failures, independent of our voluntary 30-day policy. See the Québec Office de la protection du consommateur guidance.
7. Electronics, installation and safe use
Some products are intended for hobby, engineering, experimental rocketry, unmanned systems or development use. They may require technical knowledge, appropriate power supplies, secure installation, testing, supervision and compliance with applicable aviation, rocketry, electrical, radio-frequency and other safety requirements.
Follow the product documentation, ratings and warnings. Do not exceed specified electrical or mechanical limits. Where applicable, use independent safety interlocks, fail-safe design, redundant systems and appropriate ground testing before flight. Unless expressly indicated in writing, products are not represented as certified for crewed aircraft, medical life-support systems or other applications where failure could directly endanger human life.
These safety statements explain intended use; they do not exclude our responsibility for defective products or other obligations imposed by law.
8. Warranties and statutory consumer rights
Products are covered by the legal warranties and other non-excludable protections applicable in the customer's jurisdiction, including Québec's legal warranty where applicable. Such rights can exist beyond our 30-day voluntary returns period and are not conditional on the original product packaging.
Any additional manufacturer or commercial warranty applies only when clearly described with the product. The absence of a separate commercial warranty does not eliminate the legal warranty of quality or fitness for ordinary use.
For electronics covered by Québec's rules on the availability of replacement parts, repair services and maintenance information, legally required disclosures must be provided with the relevant product information. Contact us if you need repair-related details for a product. Please consult the official Québec guidance.
9. Customer accounts and acceptable use
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login information and for notifying us promptly about suspected unauthorized access. Use accurate contact information and keep it updated to receive order and support communications.
Do not attempt unauthorized access, disrupt or overload our systems, manipulate prices or availability, submit fraudulent orders, or use automated tools to undermine the store. We may suspend access for security or abuse, subject to any legal obligations concerning existing purchases and customer data.
10. Software, documentation and intellectual property
The Cosmic name, trademarks, website design, original documentation, software and product materials belong to Cosmic Aerospace Technologies or their respective owners. Unless a separate licence states otherwise, purchasing hardware does not transfer ownership of copyrights, designs or software source code.
Documentation may be downloaded or used for its intended purpose with the corresponding product. Software or digital products, if offered, will have any applicable licence and delivery conditions disclosed before purchase. Do not redistribute protected material or misrepresent our trademarks.
11. Responsibility and disputes
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited, including obligations regarding product quality, consumer protection, negligence or personal injury. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses resulting solely from installation or use contrary to clear product warnings, specifications or applicable safety rules.
We aim to resolve concerns directly. Send us your order number and a description of the problem. These terms are interpreted under the applicable laws of Québec and Canada, without requiring Québec consumers to give up access to Québec courts, class actions or other mandatory protections. We do not impose mandatory arbitration.
12. Changes, questions and contact
We may update these published terms for future orders. The terms presented when your order was accepted remain relevant to that transaction, subject to applicable law. Material changes will be reflected by the date shown at the top of this page.
